The United States has set a 24-hour record of new coronavirus cases according to Johns Hopkins University. The highest one-day total for the pandemic is now 77,3000. The previous record was also set by the United States just a week ago with 67,800 new cases.
The U.S. also has recorded the highest number of deaths with 138,358 fatalities. This record number of deaths is under a lot of scrutiny however, amidst accusations of inaccurate reporting and questionable diagnosis. Some of these accusations coming from the White House itself.
Brazil is the nation with the next highest death toll with 76,688 recorded coronavirus fatalities to date.
