August 2, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham has announced he has tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated. He has reported flu-like symptoms and will be self-quarantining for 10 days.

Graham, age 66, stated in a tweet Saturday that he had begun having flu like symptoms, and earlier Monday via the same platform confirmed he has tested positive.

The Senator said he had begun experiencing flu-like symptoms on Saturday and sought medical attention Monday morning, and was later informed by a physician that he had tested positive.

Graham did not state whether he had tested positive for the Delta variant of the virus, which has been recently blamed for the surge in infections around the United States.

Updates to follow.
