7. Lack of … Huh? SQUIRREL!
There is so much that goes on in the world today, that it is easy to get distracted, and FAST! From texts to emails, to social media, there is a lot at our disposal designed to capture our attention, and for hours on end. While we think we’re taking a quick break to answer a few emails or texts, we find ourselves on sites like Facebook or YouTube watching videos that actually serve us no purpose at the moment.
What to Try: Digital detoxing. At least for the time that you are to be focused on your work. Turn off your notifications, put your device on airplane mode or Do Not Disturb, and set a time limit to solely focus on the task at hand. An hour of nonstop work is a good start. When it is time to take a break, set a 15-20 minute timer to scroll aimlessly or to make a snack before you disconnect again and get back to work.
